Welcome

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Turriff Academy website.

Over the years our school has gained a reputation for providing each and every one of our pupils with an educational experience which is stimulating, enjoyable, and rewarding. By enabling our young people to learn effectively, supporting them in different ways, often in partnership with other agencies and professionals, the school aims to help pupils develop into people who are ambitious, who understand how they learn and who can apply that knowledge of their learning to new situations throughout their lives.

At Turriff Academy, we firmly believe that there are many components to success in life, one of which is academic achievement. Our pupils are also encouraged to adopt and value qualities such as tolerance, compassion, cooperation, good manners, reliability, enthusiasm and determination.

As you browse through our website, I hope that you will gain a flavour of the ethos and educational aims of Turriff Academy as well as glean some useful practical information.

School Dress Code

Turriff Academy pupils are expected to follow the School Dress Code which was agreed by parents and pupils.

It aims to promote a smart, casual look, and is therefore predominantly dark colours.

You support the School Dress Code by ensuring your child is wearing clothing and footwear described in the link below.

Citizenship

The values associated with citizenship are fostered in a variety of ways at the Academy, both formal and informal. The importance of working with others and developing positive relationships, personal, social, in the working environment and with the community are encouraged at all times through the subject curriculum and the day to day life of the school.

The Academy fosters a secure, friendly and supportive environment; by encouraging and praising pupils we aim to develop a positive partnership that can help pupils to become successful learners, confident individuals, effective contributors and responsible citizens. Our policy of Promoting Positive Behaviour, our Praise Point Scheme and Praise Point Certificates all encourage pupils to participate in the process of learning and the school community.

To help ensure that all pupils have this equality of opportunity we have developed values and standards of conduct and behaviour, both in the classroom and the general school environment, which support these aims. These can be found by using the link below.
